Immunization Information

Routine vaccinations are an important way to make sure your student can be healthy, in school, and ready to learn as often as possible. To help protect the health and safety of all students, the Commonwealth of Virginia requires that children entering school meet certain immunization requirements. Families are encouraged to review the following guidelines to ensure that all necessary vaccines and documentation are provided before the start of the school year.
Rising Kindergarteners
4 doses of DTaP (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis)
4 doses of Polio
2 doses of Hepatitus A
3 doses of Hepatitus B
2 doses of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
2 doses of Varicella (Chickenpox)

Rising 7th Graders
2 doses of MenACWY
1st dose: Ages 11-12
2nd dose: Age 16
1 dose of Tdap
2 doses of HPV
1st dose: Age 11-12
2nd dose: 6-12 months after 1st dose
** Note: Children who get their first dose on or after their 15th birthday will need 3 doses
Rising 12th Graders
The Virginia Department of Health recommends that all students receive the Meningococcal ACWY (MenACWY) vaccine at age 16 to protect against meningococcal disease, which can cause serious health problems. A single dose of MenACWY is required for all students entering 12th grade in Virginia.
