Find the Good in Every Day!
Positive thinking can have many impacts on your mental health. Research shows that when we focus on the good, we are able to better cope with everyday challenges. Take a few minutes each day next week to focus on the positive.
Monday- Make a list of 5 things you are grateful for today.
Tuesday- Practice positive self-talk.
Wednesday- Start a conversation about mental health. Need an example of where to start, ask your family "Has anything happened recently that made you feel happy, sad, or worried?"
Thursday- Drink some water! Our bodies are made up mostly of water and it is vital to keep us hydrated and healthy.
Friday- Take a break from screens (cell phones, computers, TV's, etc.). Enjoy fresh air or play a game as a family!
REMINDER: There is no school for students Monday, May 13, 2024.

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Did you know that 1 in 5 people will experience a mental health condition this year? Stay tuned all month long for tips to support your family's mental health.
Green is the official color for mental health awareness, representing hope and renewal. Join Fredericksburg City Public Schools by wearing green on Tuesday, May 14th.
Not All Heroes Wear Capes
Stop by any cafeteria to watch school nutrition professionals prepare healthy meals for students-all the while adhering to strict nutrition standards, navigating student food allergies, and offering service with a smile- and you'll see they are true heroes.
This is the reason we celebrate School Lunch Hero Day every year on the first Friday in May. This annual observance is a chance to showcase what a difference school nutrition professionals make in the lives of every child who comes through the cafeteria.
