Ms. Parker's Attendance Reminders

As we get ready to kick off the 2024-25 school year, please take a moment to review some important attendance reminders from Ms. Parker:

  • All attendance notes must have a full explanation for the absence or tardy. Parents can send the explanation to lparker@cityschools.com in person upon return or to the online school attendance form on the website. Doctor's notes for long-term illness must be emailed as soon as possible. No phoned-in explanations will be taken—everything must be documented and submitted.

  • Students are expected to be in class for the full day. Please try to schedule doctors' appointments outside of school hours when possible.

  • If a student is tardy, they need to be sent in with a parent note stating the reason. Excessive tardies will result in administrative conference.

  • Please make sure all emails, phone numbers, and mailing addresses are up-to-date in PowerSchool.

  • Please make sure all student emergency contacts are up-to-date in PowerSchool. Students will not be released to anyone who is not on their approved pick-up list.

  • If you receive robocall regarding a class absence, please email the teacher that has marked your student absent for an explanation. Parents have access to class schedules and teacher contact information in the PowerSchool App. Only teachers can have class attendance changed.

  • Anyone picking up a student will need to show photo identification prior to entering the building.

  • No student will be called down or released from class to the office prior to parent arrival. Please don't text your student, as cell phones are not permitted in class.

  • The cut-off time to pick up your student in the afternoons is 2:15pm and 11:30am on early dismissal days. Please be mindful that if you have an appointment, your student will need to be picked up prior to these times. Only students with the nurse will be permitted to leave after these cut-off times.
