The Road to States

Last Friday, February 23, Boys Basketball defeated Meridian High School to win the Region 3B championship, marking their first regional title since 1986. Freshman guard Makel Minor picked up 27 points, pushing him closer to the VHSL record for points in a freshman season. Other scorers include Dezaun Robinson, Tee Ford, Michael Edwards, Ty'Kori Pettus, and Jeremiah Branson. It remained a close game well into the final seconds, but the team played hard and earned a win.

The team will host Booker T. Washington High School on Tuesday, February 27 @ 7pm at James Monroe High School for a spot in the state quarterfinals.

Congratulations to Coach Ellis, his staff, and his players—Dezaun Robinson, Tee Ford Jr., Michael Edwards, Mathias Johnson, Ty'Kori Pettus, Brandon Williams, Hunter Hicks, Jeremiah Branson, Makel Minor, Wilson Hall, Parker Bethem, E'Shun Davis, Davion Johnson—on this historic moment!
